Few research have particularly addressed the impacts of proposed land-based adverse emission applied sciences on land degradation. Much analysis has tried to understand how livelihoods and ecosystems are affected by a particular stressor – for instance, drought, heat stress, or waterlogging. Important knowledge gaps stay in understanding how vegetation, habitats and ecosystems are affected by the cumulative and interacting impacts of several stressors, including potential new stressors resulting from large-scale implementation of adverse emission applied sciences.
