Repairs have been finalized at over 100 sites along National Highways in Patna district, all damaged by floods and heavy rains. Authorities are intensifying efforts to restore road infrastructure compromised by recent extreme weather. Out of 130 damaged spots identified across the district’s 145-kilometer NHAI network, 100 have been fixed, with work ongoing at the remaining 30.

The restoration initiative aims to make damaged road sections drivable again and fix issues caused by prolonged exposure to floodwaters and intense rainfall. Efforts are still underway at the other 30 sites to ensure full recovery of the road network.

District officials have instructed engineering teams to finish the remaining work on schedule while upholding quality standards. Patna District Magistrate Shri Kundan Kumar has urged executive engineers to expedite pending repairs and conduct frequent site inspections.

The administration stresses that repairs must be both swift and meet required quality benchmarks. These directives follow an earlier assessment where departments were tasked with prioritizing road restoration and coordinating with agencies overseeing various road types.

The repair initiative extends beyond NHAI roads to those managed by other divisions. Under the Rural Works Department, 166 damaged sites were identified in the Barh division, with five locations, spanning about 1.6 kilometers, already repaired. All four damaged sites in the Patna City Road division, covering roughly 1.5 kilometers, have also been fixed.

Restoration efforts are advancing in other divisions, including Patna West, Paliganj, Danapur, and Masaurhi. The broader program shows the extensive damage caused by flooding and heavy rains across the district, with agencies working to restore connectivity on both urban and rural roads.

The Road Construction Department is also repairing its network, with hundreds of flood-affected sites marked for restoration. In the New Capital Road Division, 355 locations were identified, of which 72 have been repaired, according to recent district updates.

In Patna West, eight of 129 identified sites have been restored, covering about 7 kilometers, while the Patna City Road Division has completed repairs at all four of its identified locations. Officials have been directed to closely monitor progress, ensuring both speed and quality as work continues across divisions.
