Bukhatir Group, one of the UAE’s oldest and most diversified business houses, and Magure, a UAE-headquartered enterprise AI company, today announced a strategic partnership to embed AI across the Group’s businesses, beginning with a milestone already achieved: DIWAN, a secure enterprise AI assistant, is now live in production for employees across the Group.
DIWAN: A sovereign AI for the Group
Bukhatir Group, which operates in construction, education, real estate, retail, and sports, launched DIWAN, an enterprise AI assistant built on Magure’s MagOneAI platform. The system runs entirely within the Group’s private cloud, preventing data from leaving its infrastructure.
Staff across the Group can now use DIWAN for document analysis and decision support. Every interaction is logged and governed by Bukhatir’s policies, with audit logging of how AI is used across the organisation, eliminating the risk of employees using unsanctioned public tools that could expose sensitive information.
“For a group like ours, the choice seemed limited: either provide AI tools quickly while accepting our data resides on someone else’s platform, or maintain full control and wait years to develop it internally,” said Mohamed Sadawy, Group Chief Information Officer. “We refused to accept that trade-off.”

The assistant moved from decision to deployment in weeks. Sadawy noted that the risk of staff turning to unauthorized tools has been removed by design.
UAE’s AI strategy in action
The launch supports the UAE’s National AI Strategy 2031, which seeks to integrate intelligence across all economic sectors. The country became the first to appoint a Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and has since emphasized safe, transparent, and accountable AI with data privacy and human oversight at its core.
Bukhatir’s approach reflects this vision. The conglomerate partnered with UAE-based Magure to deploy a sovereign AI system on local servers, ensuring data residency and governance remain under its control.
In embedding AI across construction, education, real estate, retail and sports, the Group is carrying the national vision into the everyday economy: not AI as a showcase, but AI as working infrastructure across the sectors that UAE families and businesses touch daily.
From one assistant to an AI-driven enterprise
DIWAN marks the beginning of a larger plan. Bukhatir Group is establishing an AI Centre of Excellence, supported by Magure, to expand the system across its operations.

The initiative reflects a regional trend where large conglomerates prefer sovereign AI deployments over reliance on global cloud providers. These systems allow businesses to retain data control while moving quickly—a priority for sectors handling sensitive information.
