The temple, planned near the historic Sri Veerabhadra Swamy temple on the Musi riverbank, will span eight acres and include multiple sub-shrines.

Temple Complex Details

The main temple, dedicated to Sri Omkareshwara Swamy, will be accompanied by shrines for Sri Veerabhadra, Bhadrakali, Sri Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari Devi, Sri Bala Ganapathy Swamy, and Sri Bala Subramanya Swamy. The complex will feature a maha mandapam, Nandi mandapam, prakarams, raja gopurams, yagasala, and pushkarini, along with a Shiva statue.

The government aims to establish the site as a “Dakshina Kashi”, a major spiritual and cultural hub. The allocation includes INR 598.98 crore for architectural works and INR 349.67 crore for civil and structural components, such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Road Connectivity and Infrastructure

A 30-meter-wide, six-lane road, approximately 2.5 km long, will connect Istana Villas with Keerthi West Wind Villas at Manchirevula. This road, with a budget of INR 159.62 crore, will provide access to the temple complex, Greyhounds land, and the Young India Police School.

The road project encompasses pavement, drainage, retaining walls, culverts, street lighting, and road safety measures. It aims to integrate the temple development with the Musi Riverfront road network, enhancing connectivity to the cultural and religious site.

Technical Committee and Broader Plans

A technical committee, chaired by the Roads and Buildings department engineer-in-chief, has been formed to oversee the temple complex’s development. The committee includes experts in temple architecture, stone carving, and sculptural works, ensuring the project’s technical and aesthetic integrity.

The increased allocation, up from the initial estimate of INR 700 crore, reflects the government’s commitment to this ambitious initiative. The project’s scope, combining a grand temple complex with modern infrastructure, shows the state’s efforts to create a significant cultural and spiritual destination.
