The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is developing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a planned flyover at Shaheed Rao Ranjit Singh Chowk, situated in sectors 86–90 of New Gurugram. This junction lies along a critical multi-utility corridor that connects the Dwarka Expressway with NH-8 and Manesar, a route now burdened by rising traffic from residential, industrial, and institutional areas.

The proposed flyover will support mobility as New Gurugram’s residential expansion intensifies, particularly along routes linking housing sectors to Manesar’s industrial zones and destinations like Gurugram University. The DPR will determine the project’s alignment, design specifications, length, and estimated cost before being submitted for GMDA approval.

This initiative forms part of a wider strategy to enhance traffic flow between the Dwarka Expressway and Manesar, where two separate flyovers, one at Shaheed Rao Ranjit Singh Chowk and another at Dadi Sati Chowk, are under development. The two junctions are 1.7 kilometers apart, and both are designed to improve through-movement along the corridor for traffic traveling between the expressway and NH-8.

The Dadi Sati Chowk project has progressed further in the process. The GMDA has completed technical evaluations of submitted bids, with financial bids scheduled to be opened shortly. Unlike the Shaheed Rao Ranjit Singh Chowk proposal, which remains in the DPR stage, the Dadi Sati Chowk flyover will have three lanes in each direction, while service roads will continue to accommodate local traffic. Its design also accommodates U-turns and includes provisions for a future underpass.

For New Gurugram’s residential sector, these infrastructure projects do more than address traffic at specific points. The area’s development has converted previously undeveloped land into active residential neighborhoods, driving up daily commuter volumes. As new housing projects enter operation, both residents and developers are placing greater emphasis on internal and external connectivity to ensure seamless movement between residential areas, workplaces, schools, and commercial centers.

Ashok Singh Jaunapuria, managing director and CEO of SS Group, emphasized that connectivity is essential to New Gurugram’s continued growth. The proposed flyovers would improve travel between the Dwarka Expressway, NH-8, and Manesar, which serve as major employment and residential centers. He noted that upgraded infrastructure not only reduces travel times but also strengthens the integration of residential areas with the wider city, supporting sustainable development.
